Alyangula public library is shared with Alyangula Area School. It provides books, magazines, video's, computer games and puzzles for loan. It is also utilised by the traditional land owners of Groote Eylandt to display craft items they produce. There is a second public library at Umbakumba that carries around 2000 items.
