The Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO) mines a large world-class manganese deposit in the Gulf of Carpentaria, east of Arnhem Land. The deposit was first surveyed in 1908 and mined following exploration studies in the 1960’s. |

The Angurugu-based Anindilyakwa Art workshop has been awarded a grant by Community Benefit Fund (CBF).
CBF was established to provide funding support for gambling-related research and amelioration programs concerned with problem gambling, as well as Community Benefit Grants which provide assistance for general community development and improvement purposes, a Northern Territory government initiative.
The awarded funding will assist Anindilyakwa Art to purchase much-needed art supplies to meet the supply demands of the Greater Community.
