At GEMCO:
- All accidents are preventable.

Mobile equipment interactions, including light and surface mobile equipment, hazardous materials storage, handling, production, transport, recycling and disposal, plant and equipment safeguarding and isolation, and working at heights are common risks associated with work on mine sites. GEMCO manages safety risks through adherence to BHP Billiton’s HSEC Management Standards (147.96 KB) and Fatal Risk Control Protocols (747.50 KB). GEMCO utilises First Priority Enterprise (FPe) to record and track all events, including identified Hazards, Near Miss, Equipment Damage, Environmental Impacts, Community, Business Process and Personal Injuries/Illnesses.
